# Healing Through Movement & Expression
Solace Healing Arts offers trauma-informed movement and creative expression programs for children and youth in Sioux Falls, SD affected by adverse experiences. Through yoga, dance, art, and other body-based modalities, we help young survivors reconnect with their bodies, process complex emotions, and reclaim joy.

## Who We Serve
Healing Arts programs are designed for young people who have experienced trauma
Youth ages 8-17 affected by sexual assault, domestic violence, or child abuse
Young people experiencing the effects of community violence or loss
Children navigating family instability, homelessness, or displacement
Youth in foster care or residential treatment
Teens struggling with trauma symptoms that traditional talk therapy hasn't reached
Young people referred through schools, therapists, or community partners
Siblings and peers supporting friends through difficult experiences
Any child or teen seeking body-based approaches to healing

## 8-Week Trauma-Informed Program in Sioux Falls
Our core Healing Arts programs run in 6-8-week cohorts, meeting once to twice weekly for 1 hour. We customize the experience to the group we are serving. This structure provides:
- Consistency and routine that creates safety
- Time to build trust within the group
- Progressive skill development
- Opportunity for deep practice and integration
- Celebration and closure at program completion
##### Each Cohort Includes:
- 8-20 participants matched by age and developmental stage
- Participant choice throughout—end of program showcases offered but never required
- Trauma-informed facilitation by certified practitioners
- Connection to ongoing support through Solace Therapy Center if desired
##### School and Community Partnerships
We bring Healing Arts directly to where youth are, partnering with:
- Elementary and middle schools in Sioux Falls and surrounding areas
- Residential treatment facilities
- Community centers serving youth
- Juvenile justice programs
- Foster care and family services agencies
On-site programs reduce barriers to access and meet young people in familiar, comfortable environments.

Trauma affects the body, not just the mind. When we experience overwhelming events, our nervous systems store those experiences in our muscles, breath patterns, and movement. Traditional talk therapy is powerful, but for many people—especially those who experienced trauma before they had words to describe it—healing requires reconnecting with the body.
